We received a poster in the library for a JFK ‘Pro­file in Courage’ Essay Con­test, I thought I would share it with you guys.  High school stu­dents only, can write an essay on the ‘polit­i­cal courage of an elected offi­cial.’  Dead­line is Jan­u­ary 6, 2007, it looks like there’s a cash prize for the win­ners.  For more infor­ma­tion, you can go to their web­page.

In addi­tion to our own writ­ing con­test: In Our Own Words (which you can read more about HERE), I just found out about another con­test spon­sored by the Ohio Cen­ter for the Book. Its called “Let­ters About Lit­er­a­ture.” Basi­cally, you write a let­ter to an author (liv­ing or dead) who’s book meant alot to you. There’s big cash prizes for the win­ners, but the dead­line is Decem­ber 8 2006. Click here for the rules and entry form!!

I slowed down on my read­ing a bit, I’ve been watch­ing Star­gate SG-1 dvds lately.  I’ve also been read­ing some adult books lately too, I guess I can men­tion some of them…
